How to play Poker Dice

You may have heard of a relatively new online game called Poker Dice. It is taking the Internet by storm. But have you every played it? Probably not, right? Here are the basic rules of the game for when you do decide to play.

The premise of Poker Dice is simple – you are trying to roll the best poker hand using five dice. There are many different kinds of dice that can be used to play Poker Dice, but the most common are the standard six sided dice and playing card dice, which have the playing card values from nine to Ace printed on the sides of them. The style of dice used doesn’t make a difference in the outcome of the game, though.

To start a round of Poker Dice, the first player rolls the five dice at the same time. When the dice have stopped, they examine their results. At this time, they have 2 options – if they are happy with their hand, they can stand. If they wish to improve their hand, they can reroll any number of their dice, from 0 to 5, and try to improve their hand. Usually, each player gets a maximum number of rolls, and players can stop at any time. When a player has rolled 3 times or is satisfied with their hand, the next player starts.

When everyone has gotten their hand through the procedure above, it is time to compare the hands. Standard poker hand rankings apply. Two pair would look something like 4-4-1-1-3 or a full house would look like 9-9-K-K-K. While there are some different variations of the game with different winning numbers, they all follow the same fundamental concepts.
