Double Victors at the WSOP

Greg ‘FBT’ Mueller has won Event 50# the $1,500 Limit Hold’em Shootout. The win is most interesting because it has seen him join three other players who have also won two bracelets at the 2009 WSOP.

In a day and age where it is nearly impossible to win one bracelet, Mueller has joined a very special club. Mueller appears to be the king of Limit Holdem poker as it was in Event 33# the $10,000 World Championship Limit Hold’em where he won his first bracelet a few weeks ago.

Shane Warne and Friends at WSOP 2009

Crown Casino recently played host to cricket legend Shane Warne’s very own poker tournament, the ‘Shane Warne Celebrity Bounty Event’. 888 Poker supported the day and 3 lucky players won $20,000 prize packages to the World Series of Poker (WSOP).

The packages included entry into the tourney and enough money to cover all travel, accommodation and expenses for the 'holiday of a lifetime'.

WSOP - New Games and New Winners

Daniel Alaei from Los Angeles has won Event #18, Omaha Hi/Lo, at this year’s World Series of Poker (WSOP). Entry was US$10,000 and was one of the new big buy-in events added to the schedule this year. This has been a good move for the pro players as it gives them the opportunity to win big dollars and bracelets without wading through thousands of runners.

Celebrity Bounty Event with Warney

Shane Warne is a busy man. He is still one of the best cricketers in the world and has been one of the real stars in the Indian Premier League. Then he has his family, business and commentating commitments to fit in as well. You think that would be enough for the ‘King of Spin’ but one of Warnie's greatest loves is poker. Even when he is on the road you can usually catch him at night in his hotel room with his laptop plugged in honing his skills at 888Poker.

Another Bracelet for Aussie Champion Lisandro

Australia’s greatest ever poker player, Jeff Lisandro has won the $1,500 Seven Card Stud Tournament (Event 16). Lisandro defeated runner up Jeff Pardey after systematically destroying the rest of the final table including John Juanda who finished fifth. Seven Card Stud has been a great tournament for the Aussies over the years with Lisandro and Gary Benson having won in previous years.
