When you sit down to play in any poker game then you need to have a very good idea of where the money will be coming from. Now I am not referring to the old saying of “if you cannot see the value in the game then it’s you” but an appraisal of exactly where your opponents will be making mistakes and how they will be making them. This is why multi-tabling can be a profitable way to make money but it can also be a difficult way to make money as well because of how difficult it is to watch so many players at the same time. However in poker then you can often do very well with a default plan and this is far easier to do in full ring games than it is in six handed or heads up games.

There are some practices with regards to online poker that many players find unethical and unfriendly. However the players who tend to think like this are the players who are on the receiving end of these tactics. A couple of years ago I started a process of hitting and running in heads up no-limit hold’em games at the $200 through $600 levels and skipping from site to site. I mentioned this on a major poker forum and was attacked for it. This was namely from one player who was a noted heads up specialist.
